Chili Lime Tofu Kabobs


There are some things that just go well together, and chili and lime is such a pairing! It has a refreshing, delicious, flavorful and citrusy taste. The intense flavor profile works well with tofu and makes a great meal. Grilling it reminds me that Spring is coming, and I look forward to warmer weather soon!

I love how simple the marinade to make! It literally took me all of 4 minutes to do. Yes I realize that I used a lot of the cilantro stems in the marinade. They are full of flavor and I don’t think they should be thrown out like a lot of people do. Besides, it’s a marinade, it doesn’t need to be pretty.

After rinsing and pressing the tofu, cut it into 1 inch squares and toss in the marinate. It is very important to press the tofu to let all the excess water out so it doesn’t dilute the marinade. Let it marinate for at LEAST one hour, but I recommend 2-4 hours if you have the time. Grill and then enjoy with whatever side you enjoy!

  • 1/2 Cup Lime Juice
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Cilantro
  • 1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 1-2 Tblsp Maple Syrup
  • 340g Extra Firm Tofu


  1. Rinse and press the tofu for 10 minutes.

  2. Combine the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl and whisk together.

  3. Cut the tofu into 1 inch cubes and marinate it in the mixture for at least 1 hour.

  4. Reserve the marinade. Grill until grill marks appear and the edges are starting to crisp; 7 minutes per side. When you flip the tofu, brush it with more of the marinade. 

  5. Brush them again with the marinade when they are finished cooking. Serve with grilled veggies or salad.
