Oats are a staple in the winter for me. Not only are they the easiest breakfast to make ahead of time, they are versatile and delicious. What says winter more than the combination of gingerbread and cranberries?

Simple recipies are the best! For the oats, combine all the ingredients and refrigerate overnight. The sauce is easy too. Simmer together the cranberries, water, and sugar until soft. It will thicken as it cooks; you can mash the berries, or keep them whole. Serve on top of the oats.
