Vegan Sweet & Sour Sauce


It’s very warm out tonight and I wanted to make an easy dinner. I had a pineapple that needed to be used so I made this. You could add tofu or toasted cashews in it if wanted, but I enjoyed it without!

Hollow out each half of the pineapple and chop up the pineapple into bite sized pieces. After mix all the ingredients in for the sauce, add the pineapple and you’re done.

  • 1 Cup of Fresh Pineapple diced
  • 4 - 5 Tblsp Rice Vinegar
  • 4 Tblsp Tomato Paste
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 4 Tblsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Grated Ginger
  • Pinch Salt


  1. Slice up the pineapple into bite sized pieces.
  2. Mix together the tomato paste, sugar, water, rice vinegar, ginger and salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Add chopped pineapple to the sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with rice and vegetables.
